Work to Residence – Long Term Skill Shortage List work visa label conditions

Internal Administration Circular 07-14 outlines that label conditions for Work to Residence – Long Term Skill Shortage List should include the occupation, employer and location.

The labour market test under WR3 Long Term Skill Shortage List work instructions is met by the occupation being listed on the Long Term Skill Shortage List (LTSSL) and the applicant meeting the requirements listed against that occupation. The LTSSL applies to all of New Zealand, and as such there is no reason to include a specific location as a condition on the label. Conditions should read: ‘to work as [Occupation] for [Employer] in New Zealand.

This means that LTSSL work visa holders will not have to apply for a variation of conditions should they be required to work in a different location in New Zealand as part of their job. However, visa holders will still be required to apply for a variation of conditions if their position or employer changes.
