Conclusion of the Export Education Industry Partnership Pilot

The Export Education Industry Partnership Pilot (IPP) has been running since early 2014. Last year the Minister of Immigration agreed to conclude the IPP and replace it with a new industry partnership model.

Timing of the conclusion of the IPP has been agreed as follows:

  • From 1 January 2016 – IPP providers to stop issuing nomination letters
  • From 1 February 2016 – Immigration New Zealand (INZ) to stop processing applications under the IPP. All applications from IPP providers lodged with INZ from this date will be processed as per INZ’s standard operating procedures (including those that are accompanied by an IPP nomination letter).

The new industry partnership model is currently being developed and is expected to be implemented by mid-2016.

Action
Please discuss with your team(s) and ensure they are aware of the above dates. For applications from IPP providers lodged with INZ before 1 February 2016, continue to process as per the IPP procedures.

For all applications lodged with INZ from 1 February 2016 onwards, process as per the standard operating procedures.
