Talent (Accredited Employers) Work Instructions

Some officers have been requesting evidence of qualification and/or work experience Talent (Accredited Employer) Work Instructions; the purpose of these instructions is to allow accredited employers to recruit overseas workers whose talents they require.

Relevant Instructions (WR1)

The instructions state that the accredited employer has direct responsibility for those employees and their work output. The intent of the instructions is to allow trusted employers to recruit who they want to, subject to the applicant:

  • having an acceptable offer of employment (which also meets the salary threshold),
  • being 55 years of age or under,
  • meeting normal medical, character and bona fide criteria, and
  • lodging an application in the required manner.

Action
Talent visa instructions do not require the applicant to supply evidence of qualifications and/or experience. Requesting these is not appropriate and is contrary to the objective of the specific instructions for Talent (Accredited Employer) work visas.

Please note that applicants who work in occupations requiring occupational registration must still provide evidence of their registration, in accordance with WR1.30
