Approval in Principle Letters for Student Visa Applications

Operations Support has become aware of instances where immigration officers  are not including key bio data such as dates of birth (and in some cases, names) when they send out student visa Approval in Principle (AIP) letters.

The AIP letters are also copied to the student’s education provider, and the lack of bio information has resulted in them being unable to identify or locate particular students in their system, meaning they have to go back to the offshore Immigration New Zealand office that processed the application for more details.

Action
Please discuss with your team(s) and ensure that full names and dates of birth for students are included in all AIP letters being sent out.
