Centralisation of Requests for Approval in Principle

Centralisation of requests for Approval in Principle (AIPs) was originally discussed at an AIP brokers workshop in November 2015 with the purpose of making it easier to provide training for AIP brokers, enabling more consistent management and processing of AIPs and providing one central point of contact for employers and Immigration New Zealand (INZ) staff. It will also allow INZ to build more a complete picture of employers who recruit staff to work in different parts of New Zealand.

It has now been decided that from 1 February 2017 the processing of all AIPs, including Fishing AIPs, will be centralised in Christchurch Area Office (CAO).

Any AIPs received up to and including Friday 20 January should be processed by the Office receiving the AIP, while any AIPs received after Saturday 21 January should be forwarded to CAO for processing and the applicant advised of the change of address.
