Non Cash Benefits – Letter to Federated Farmers

Operations Support has responded to questions from Federated Farmers about whether non cash benefits such as accommodation and fuel can be included when calculating an employee’s gross salary and when calculating an employee’s hourly rate to ensure it does not fall beneath the minimum wage.

INZ confirms that Section 7 of the Wage Protection Act 1983 requires wages to be paid in the form of cash or money.
