Contacting Customers and Immigration Advisers

INZ has recently received a Level 2 complaint from a licensed immigration adviser complaining that his clients have been contacted directly by immigration officers and provided four examples of this. The complaint was upheld and an apology provided. Staff must follow the best practice instructions in IAC 09/09.

Please read through IAC 09/09 with your staff; stress the importance of communicating via a nominated adviser, ensure there are no outstanding queries about this and that staff follow these instructions.
