As previously advised, the Pathway Student Visa Pilot (the Pilot) has been extended by a further 12 months. To support the extension and further grow the number of education providers participating in the Pilot, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has invited eligible providers (that have not already signed up) to take part. An additional 78 education providers have signed up to participate in the Pilot. This number is made up of one institute of technology and polytechnic, 16 private training establishments and 61 schools.

The list of Pathway providers found on the INZ website has been updated to include these new education providers. Please continue to check this list when you receive a Pathway Student Visa application to ensure all education providers involved in the study pathway are participating in the Pilot.

In addition to the above, INZ is developing more guidance for Pathway providers, including a cover letter template for providers to use when they are offering a joint study pathway. We hope this will improve the quality of the Pathway Student Visa applications received, including making it easier for staff to identify where a pathway is being offered.
