New and Improved Dairy Guides for Migrants and their Employers

Context
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has released updated versions of our Dairy guides for migrant dairy workers and their employers. The information below explains why the guides have been updated and what information they contain. We ask that staff distribute the guides to all migrants intending to work on a New Zealand dairy farm.

The updated guides include new information on getting ready to move to New Zealand, visas, workplace communication skills and the Kiwi rural lifestyle. There are also new lift-out quick reference cards which include a checklist to plan ahead, communication tips, and a list of relevant support services.

The guides replace the first edition of the guides which were produced in 2012. Changes in the new guides are based on feedback INZ collected from Migrant dairy workers and their employers across the country.

The guides were distributed nationwide to farmers, migrants and support agencies in June 2015.
