2017-Apr 21: International Qualification Assessment document requirement changes

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) is changing its documentation requirements for International Qualification Assessments and will no longer request original copies of award certificates and academic transcripts.

Instead, NZQA will have different requirements based on the countries of award. For most countries, NZQA will request duly certified copies of all documents to be submitted electronically.

If NZQA has any doubt about the authenticity of any qualification, validating information will be requested directly from the awarding institution. NZQA also reserves the right to request original copies where required.

The change aligns NZQA practice with other New Zealand government agencies and other jurisdictions internationally, and will improve the experience of applicants. The change has taken effect this week.
