If we decline your employer accreditation or Job Check application, you can:
- ask us to reconsider our decision, or
- submit a new application.
Request a reconsideration
You should only request a reconsideration if you think we have incorrectly assessed your application. If your application was declined because it was missing information or because you did not meet all the requirements for your application, we are unlikely to change our decision when reconsidering your application.
You can submit a new employer accreditation or Job Check application when you meet the requirements.
Apply for a new accreditation or job check
To request a reconsideration, you will need to explain what parts of our decision you believe have been incorrectly assessed and why. You will also need to pay the reconsideration fee.
You must request a reconsideration within 14 days of your application being declined.
Request a reconsideration of an employer accreditation application
You can request a reconsideration by logging in to your Immigration Online account.
1. Log in to Immigration Online.
2. Go to the Employ migrants tab.
3. In the Manage accreditations section, select Manage accreditations.
4. Check the Submitted accreditation applications section to find your declined application.
5. In the Options drop-down list, select View application. The Employer accreditation application summary page opens.
6. At the top of the page, select Request reconsideration.
7. Complete and submit the online form and pay the fee. The fee for a reconsideration of an employer accreditation application is NZD$240.00.
Fees, decision times and where to apply
If the 14-day reconsideration period has ended, the Request reconsideration link will not display on the Employer accreditation summary page.
Requests for reconsideration are reviewed by a different immigration officer from the one who made the decline decision. When your reconsideration request has been decided, you will be notified by email that a decision letter is available for review in your Immigration Online account.

4. Check the Submitted job check applications section to find your declined application.
5. In the Options drop-down list, select View application. The Job Check application details page opens.
6. At the top of the page, select Request reconsideration.
7. Complete and submit the online form and pay the fee. The fee for a reconsideration of a Job Check application is NZD$240.00.

You must include all required information with your application. This will help prevent further delays or your application being declined again.
