Our Immigration Online system allows you to apply online for a work, visitor or student visa. You can upload supporting documents, photographs and also pay for your application online. It's faster and easier to apply online.

Visas you can apply for using Immigration Online

You can apply for the following visas using Immigration Online:

  • Student
  • Work
  • Visitor
  • Group Visitor

You are unable to apply for the following visas:

  • Partner or dependent child
  • Resident
  • Permanent Resident

What's involved

  1. Check the supporting documents you need to provide with your application
  2. Create your Immigration ONLINE account
  3. Complete all relevant fields in the application as fully as you can
  4. Upload your documents and photo
  5. Pay the application fee with your credit card
  6. Submit the application
  7. An Immigration New Zealander officer will begin assessing your application
  8. A decision is made on your application and you are notified
  9. Your eVisa is issued, or a physical label is placed on your passport.

What you need to apply online

To complete an online application you will need:

  • A valid credit card
  • A computer and reliable internet connection
  • A passport-style photo in jpeg format
  • PDF copies of your important documents OR a scanner to make PDFs.
