My employer has been added to the list of non-compliant employers. Can I continue to work for them?

You can continue to work for an employer on the non-compliant employers list for as long as your visa remains valid.

If you have received an email from Immigration New Zealand that your current employer has been put on the Stand Down List, you can continue to work for your employer while on your current visa, but you cannot be granted a new visa to work with your current employer during the period that they are on the list.

Employment New Zealand | Employers on stand down

Your current employer will be listed on this website 28 days after you were advised that they have been put on the Stand Down List, to allow time for them to appeal this decision. Do not worry if you cannot find their name on the list in that time.

The fact that your current employer is on the Stand Down List will not affect your ability to be considered for a visa to work for a different employer if you meet the requirements for the visa.

If your current employer is successful in an appeal, Immigration New Zealand will write to you to advise of this. This will mean that they will not be stood down, and that you can be granted a new visa to work with your current employer, or any other visa if you meet the requirements for the visa.
