The theme for the 2019 Forum was “Community engagement” — the forum will start the conversation which will be continued over the next 12 months to develop an approach and the pathway required to better connect communities locally to support refugee settlement in the current and new settlement locations.

The theme will be explored through a series of workshops to establish a framework and principals to guide the development of a community engagement approach that connects communities in each region and across New Zealand to strengthen the overall support for refugee settlement outcomes.
