  • Travel to New Zealand as a group.
Things to note
  • Your group must travel to and leave New Zealand together.
  • As well as the group leader completing a ‘Group Visa Application’, each individual group member will need to complete a ‘Visitor Visa Application’.
  • You may be able to stay for longer than 1 month if your trip is longer, such as if you are here on a study tour.

The group leader must complete a Group Visa Application, which must include:

  • the names of each group member
  • identifying details for the group, like dates of birth and passport numbers
  • a signed declaration confirming that the members of the group intend to travel to New Zealand for the same purpose, on the same day, and for the same length of time.

Tips

When the group arrives in New Zealand, the group leader will need to:

  • present the group visa and each group member’s passport or certificates of identity
  • make sure the group stays together to complete all the necessary arrival formalities
  • make sure the group leaves together at the end of their stay.

Each group member must complete an appropriate Visitor Visa Application and show they meet the visa criteria.

The group leader must submit the individual visitor visa applications with the Group Visa Application.

Conditions

These are the conditions that you must meet once you have your visa.

Entry permission

You must apply for entry permission when you arrive in New Zealand. You can do this by completing a digital New Zealand traveller declaration (NZTD), or an NZTD paper declaration.

New Zealand Customs and Biosecurity also check that you meet their entry requirements.

Arriving in New Zealand

Notes

You can be refused entry permission if:

  • you do not meet our character requirements
  • your circumstances have changed since you were granted a visa
  • you refuse to let us take your photo or to provide us with your fingerprints or an iris scan, if asked for them
  • you are unable to provide evidence of any onward travel or funds required by the conditions of your visa.

You must have a travel ticket or enough money to buy one.

Unless your visa label or letter states “Return/onward travel not required” you must have a ticket to leave New Zealand whenever you travel here.

Work

You cannot work in New Zealand on this visa.

You must leave New Zealand before your visa expires.
