An initiative aimed at getting better economic and settlement outcomes for new migrants in Auckland has been re-confirmed. Auckland Council, Auckland Unlimited and Immigration New Zealand (INZ) have signed a renewed partnership agreement.

The 2022 Auckland Regional Partnership Agreement (ARPA) will improve information and data sharing, making it easier for the partner agencies to work together and take action in a rapidly changing landscape. It will also help the Auckland region respond to the new environment as new Zealand’s borders reopen – attracting skilled workers, entrepreneurial migrants, and international students.

The 3 organisations recognise skilled migrants play a critical role in sustaining and growing Auckland’s economy. By working together, the aim is to identify opportunities to make the most of the talent, skills and investment that migration brings to Auckland.
