The state of emergency in New Zealand triggered by the serious flooding in many parts of the country is affecting some of Immigration New Zealand’s operations.

Given that a number of people are without power we are extending the timing of this week’s draw for Expressions of Interest in the Skilled Migrant Category by a week until next Wednesday, 22 February.

We are also aware that some people have had their international flights delayed or cancelled as a result of the weather. We encourage people whose visas have just expired, or are about to, to contact us urgently so we can help those who have had their circumstances impacted by recent flight delays/cancellations. It is imperative that anyone who requires assistance gets in touch with us.

As a number of our staff are directly impacted by the weather and some of our offices are closed there may be some delays in processing visa applications. We’re working hard to maintain as near a normal service as possible.
