About applying for residence as an entrepreneur

You can apply for residence under our Entrepreneur Category if you have successfully established a business in New Zealand for at least two years, provided:

  • you are self-employed or, if you’re a part-owner, are working in the business
  • you can prove your business is benefiting New Zealand.

Your application can be made directly under this category, or after you have gained a long-term business visa.

If your application is successful, we will approve in principle your application for residence.

Follow the steps to apply for residence as an entrepreneur.

What about my partner and children?

Your application for residence can include your partner and any dependent children.
