London Branch processing times

Processing times are subject to change. These times are guidelines only and we cannot guarantee that your application will be processed within this time. The times quoted are for straightforward applications.

Complicated applications or those with health or character issues are likely to take longer to process than the timeframes below. Please refer to the tips and processing pages for each application steam for up to date information and more detail about what may affect the processing times of individual applications.

How soon can you expect your temporary visa application to be finalised?

The table below shows the percentage of applications processed in the branch within 25 days for the last three months.

Percentage of visa applications processed within 25 days
Visa type February 2013 March 2013 April 2013
Student 99% 98% 98%
Visitor 91% 90% 89%
Work 95% 95% 94%

In some cases, where more information is needed to support an application, for example a labour market check or a medical referral, applications can take considerably longer than 25 days. Other than the table above, we are unable to predict how long each individual application is likely to take, but we are committed to delivering the fastest possible service and we will keep in touch with you throughout the process of your application.
