Entrepreneur Application Checklist

This is a quick checklist to help you provide all the information that we require to consider your application for residence under the entrepreneur category.

All documents submitted in support of an application should be originals or certified copies (ie certified as a true copy of the original by a lawyer, notary public, Justice of the Peace, or other person authorised by law to take statutory declarations in your country or in New Zealand).  If you provide originals that you wish us to return to you after assessing your application, we would be grateful if you also provide photocopies.

We would be grateful if you present this information in the following order:

  1. Application form, fully completed and signed.
  2. Two passport sized photographs for each person.
  3. Application fee.
  4. Evidence that you have established a business in New Zealand.
  5. Evidence that your business is benefiting New Zealand.
  6. Evidence that your business meets New Zealand employment and immigration law.
  7. Evidence of English language ability – unless this is not required under transitional entrepreneur policy (i.e. where a previous long term business visa application was approved in principle prior to 20 November 2002).
  8. Partnership documents, if applicable:
    • Marriage certificate.
    • Appropriate evidence to show that your partnership is genuine and stable, e.g. evidence of joint bank accounts, joint property, utilities invoices in joint names, and/or correspondence addressed to the same address for yourself and your partner.
  9. Full birth certificates for each applicant showing parentage (if these were not previously provided for a long term business visa application).
  10. Police certificates.
  11. Photocopies of the identity pages of your passports.
  12. Completed Medical and X-ray Certificate Forms (NZIS 1007) PDF.
