W3.115 Direct investment visas for Business Investor category residence applicants (26/07/1999)
  1. Principal applicants for residence under the Business Investor category may be issued with a multiple work visa to allow them to enter New Zealand to transfer the nominated amount of investment funds to New Zealand (see BB5.1.5).
  2. The visa authorises a permit current for 12 months from the date that residence is approved in principle.
  3. Applicants must limit their employment in New Zealand to seeking and assessing direct investment opportunities and making direct investments.
  4. Spouses and dependent children of principal applicants in this category may be issued with multiple journey visitors' visas authorising a permit current for the same period as the principal applicant's.
  5. Dependent children of principal applicants in this category may be issued with student visas and granted student permits, provided that they meet the standard student policy requirements (see U2).
  6. The principal applicant's work visa should be endorsed as follows:
    1. As Facilitate Direct Investment
    2. For Self
    3. At For Any Area.
