WG6.1 Overview (16/10/2006)

This policy provides for the grant of work visas and permits to foreign crew on foreign chartered fishing vessels (FCFV). The policy applies where a New Zealand Charter Partner (NZCP) and a Foreign Charter Partner (FCP) are parties to a Charter Agreement whereby the FCP undertakes fishing activities for a NZCP in New Zealand’s economic zone pursuant to an annual catch entitlement (ACE) made available by the NZCP.
