P2.5 Classes of exchange scheme (26/07/1999)

P2.5.1 Approved exchange schemes

  1. The NZIS formally approves the terms and conditions of approved exchange schemes.
  2. The schemes must operate under the auspices of responsible organisations that have satisfied the NZIS that appropriate arrangements have been made for the accommodation, maintenance and welfare of the exchange participants and any accompanying dependants.

P2.5.5 Government-to-government exchange agreements

The terms and conditions of entry of these schemes are set out in formal agreements signed by New Zealand and other countries.

P2.5.10 Private exchanges (See also P6)

This class covers situations in which individuals apply to undertake exchanges that:

  1. they themselves have arranged with someone in New Zealand, or
  2. have been arranged by their employers, schools or other sponsors.
