Pitcairn Islanders are considered for a resident visa under a special category because New Zealand recognises that there are few employment opportunities on Pitcairn Island.
Pitcairn Islanders must be approved for a resident visa if they:
apply in the prescribed manner (see R2.35 - R2.45), and
meet health and character requirements (see A4 and A5), and
have an offer of employment in New Zealand that meets the requirements of SM7.15 and is made by an employer who meets the requirements set out at R5.110.
