WR7.25 Applications for a subsequent South Island Contribution work visa

  1. Despite WR7.10(h), an application for a South Island Contribution work visa may still be made, and a visa granted, if the principal applicant applies after 23 May 2018 and:
    1. holds a South Island Contribution work visa; and
    2. has made an application for residence under the South Island Contribution residence instructions and a decision on that residence application has yet to be finalised; and
    3. provides evidence to show they meet the requirements of WR7.10(b) – WR7.10(f).
  2. Despite WR7.10.5(f), a visa may be granted if the principal applicant is applying for a subsequent South Island Contribution work visa:
    1. to undertake employment in another industry in the same region; or
    2. to undertake employment in the same industry in another South Island region; and
    3. the principle applicant meets the requirements to be granted a variation of conditions, as set out at E3.26.1.15.
  3. Visas may be granted under these instructions for the length of time required to decide the application made under the South Island Contribution residence instructions.
  4. An application for a South Island Contribution work visa will be declined if it is made after 23 May 2018 and the principal applicant does not have a residence application made under the South Island Contribution resident visa instructions under consideration.
  5. Despite E7.10(a)(ii) immigration officers may apply these instructions to any work visa application under the South Island Contribution Work Instructions that has not been decided and was submitted before the effective date.
