V2.25 Onward travel requirements (29/11/2010)

Applicants for a visitor visa are required to show evidence of the travel arrangements they have made to leave New Zealand at the end of their stay.

V2.25.1 Evidence of onward travel arrangements

  1. Immigration officers must be satisfied that visitors have provided evidence of either onward travel arrangements or sponsorship.
  2. Evidence of onward travel arrangements includes but is not limited to:
    1. actual travel tickets (confirmed or open-dated) out of New Zealand to a country which the person has right of entry to;
    2. (only for applicants on arrival in New Zealand) a visitor visa endorsed to show that the onward travel requirement has been met or waived;
    3. written confirmation from an airline or travel agency that onward travel has been booked and paid for.
  3. Sponsored applicants should provide a Sponsorship Form for Temporary Entry (INZ 1025) completed by their sponsor.
