U3.10 Tuition fees (30/07/2012)

  1. Applicants must provide evidence of:
    1. exemption from tuition fees, or
    2. payment of tuition fees, or
    3. a notice of the award of a full New Zealand Aid Programme scholarship.

      Note: For applications processed outside New Zealand, evidence of payment is not required until after the application has been approved in principle.

  2. Despite (a) above, evidence of payment of tuition fees need not be provided if an immigration officer is satisfied that the student is awaiting home country government loan approval to pay their tuition fees once the student enrols in person at the New Zealand Tertiary Education Institution (TEI). The student must provide:
    1. evidence the loan has been applied for, and
    2. confirmation from the enrolling New Zealand TEI that they expect to receive the fee directly once the student is onshore and has completed enrolment at that TEI.
