A7.65 Reasons for refusal to be given and right of complaint to the Privacy Commissioner

If information is withheld:

  1. the reasons why that information has been withheld must be given, with reference to the appropriate section of the Act (a copy of the withheld information must be placed in a secure folder);
  2. the requestor must also be advised of the right to seek an investigation and review of the refusal by writing to the Privacy Commissioner.
