L2.1 Who may apply for a limited visa

The following people may apply for a limited visa:

  1. a person, including a person to whom a visa waiver applies, who is outside New Zealand and who wishes to come to New Zealand for an express purpose;
  2. a person arriving in New Zealand to whom a visa waiver applies who wishes to stay in New Zealand for an express purpose;
  3. a person in New Zealand who is the holder of a temporary visa (unless subject to section 150 of the Immigration Act 2009);
  4. a person in New Zealand who is the holder of a current limited visa and who needs further time to achieve the express purpose for which that visa was granted.
