W6.35 Netherlands-New Zealand Working Holiday Scheme (26/07/1999)
  1. This scheme allows 250 young citizens of the Netherlands annually to be issued with multiple entry work visas, current for 12 months from the date of issue, authorising employment for a maximum of 12 months from the date of arrival.
  2. To be eligible for a work visa under this scheme, applicants must:
    1. be citizens of the Netherlands ordinarily resident in the Netherlands at the time of applying, and
    2. satisfy the visa officer at the New Zealand Embassy in The Hague that their main intention for coming to New Zealand is to holiday, and that employment is an incidental reason for the visit, and
    3. have a minimum of NZ$4,200 available funds for maintenance; and
    4. agree to hold comprehensive medical and comprehensive hospitalisation insurance that will remain current throughout their stay.
  3. During their stay, participants may enrol in one training or study course lasting a maximum of 3 months, but they must not change their status to that of student, visitor or long-term work permit holder.
