Student enrolment termination form

Use this form to notify Immigration New Zealand when terminating the enrolment of a foreign national holding a student visa. Do not use this form if students have completed or graduated from their course.

Reminder

Education providers must make sure that international students are legally allowed to study in New Zealand, under the Immigration Act 2009.

This requirement is in Clause 45 of the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021.

Providers must:

  • check that every international student has the right visa or immigration status to study.
  • notifying Immigration New Zealand (INZ) if they know about, or suspect, any breaches of visa conditions.
  • contact INZ within a reasonable time if a student’s enrolment is terminated.

If a provider reports this information, it could mean that we take compliance action. This can affect the student’s visa.
