United Kingdom - Trade and Craft Qualifications (26/09/2011)

Trade Qualifications

The qualifications in Table A qualify for the points indicated where:

  • the qualification is relevant to an occupation in Part B of the List of Skilled Occupations at Appendix 6; and
  • the qualification is awarded by an institution specified in Table A; and
  • the applicant provides evidence of completing:
    • a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) or a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) at either Level 2 or Level 3; and
    • a National Certificate awarded by BTEC or Edexcel; or a Certificate awarded by City & Guilds of London Institute

which are relevant to the specific qualification included in Table A.

Craft Qualifications

The craft qualifications in Table C qualify for the points indicated where:

  • the qualification is awarded by the City & Guilds of London Institute in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales; and
  • the qualification is relevant to an occupation in Part B of the List of Skilled Occupations at Appendix 6; and
  • the applicant provides evidence of completing a time-based apprenticeship which is included in Table D; and
  • the time-based apprenticeship is in an occupation that is relevant to the awarded qualification’s major subject area; and
  • the time-based apprenticeship is awarded by a body listed in Table E.
