SR6.15 Requirements for 24 months of work in New Zealand in a Care Workforce sector role (26/06/2024)
Note: For SR6.15 (g), for example, a personal care assistant must be paid an hourly rate of $28.25. An applicant can start counting work experience from 29 September 2021 if they earn $27 an hour (the wage rate in effect at the time). When the wage requirement increases to $28.25 an hour on 1 July 2022, they can keep counting their work experience if they are still in the same job earning $27 an hour.
Note: The 24 months of work in New Zealand does not have to be gained consecutively and can be a total of different periods, for example two 12-month periods with a gap of six months between. Additionally, it can be made up of different types of work in New Zealand, for example 18 months in a Care Workforce sector occupation and six months in a Tier 2 Green List role.
