BN6 Nominated funds and/or assets

1. The principal applicant must nominate funds and/or assets equivalent in value to at least NZD:
   1. $5 million if they are investing under the Growth Category; and
   2. if they are investing under the Balanced Category:
      • $10 million; or
      • $11 million to be eligible for a 14-day reduction of required time in New Zealand; or
      • $12 million to be eligible for a 28-day reduction of required time in New Zealand; or
      • $13 million to be eligible for a 42-day reduction of required time in New Zealand.
2. The principal applicant must demonstrate:
   1. ownership of the nominated funds and/or assets (see BN6.1); and
   2. that the nominated funds and/or assets have been legally earned or acquired (see BN6.5).
3. The nominated funds and/or assets must be unencumbered (see BN6.10).
4. The nominated funds and/or assets must not be borrowed, except after approval in principle, in which case they may be borrowed to the extent that the borrowed funds are secured against nominated assets and have been demonstrated by the principal applicant to be acceptable as set out in BN8.10(f).
