H8.25 Currency and conditions of 2022 Special Ukraine Visas (12/04/2022)

  1. Visas will be granted to allow for a stay in New Zealand for 2 years, either from the date of the decision (if granted while the applicant is onshore), or (if granted while the applicant is offshore) from the date the applicant arrives in New Zealand.
  2. Visas will have multiple entry travel conditions allowing the holder to travel in and out of New Zealand.
  3. If the holder is offshore when the visa is granted, the visa may be granted with a travel condition that first entry to New Zealand must be made within nine months of the visa being granted.
  4. Despite E3.10(a), the provisions set out at (a), (b), and (c) above apply.
  5. Applicants aged 16 years or younger will be granted a student visa with open student conditions.
  6. Applicants aged 17 or 18 years will be granted a work visa with open work conditions or a student visa with open student conditions, depending on their situation.
  7. Applicants aged 19 years and older will be granted a work visa with open work conditions.
  8. A visa issued under these instructions is subject to the condition that the holder comply with:
    1. any order made under section 11 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020; and
    2. any order made under section 70 of the Health Act 1956 and listed in schedule 2 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020; and
    3. any instruction from a Medical Officer of Health which relates to a notifiable or quarantinable disease.
  9. A visa issued under these instructions is subject to the condition that the sponsor meets their obligation as set out in E6.15 for the duration of the visa.
