U11 New Zealand Aid Programme-supported students (28/08/2017)

  1. A New Zealand Aid Programme-supported student receives funding from the New Zealand Government under the following schemes:
    1. New Zealand Development Scholarships;
    2. Short-Term Training Scholarships;
    3. Commonwealth Scholarships;
    4. New Zealand Regional Development Scholarships;
    5. English Language Training for Officials;
    6. New Zealand Pacific Scholarships;
    7. New Zealand Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Scholars Award.
  2. The objective of the scholarships is for candidates to gain knowledge and skills in specific subject areas that will assist in the development of their home country.
  3. Recipients are required to return to their home country for at least two years after the completion of their scholarship to apply these new skills and knowledge in government, civil society or private business organisations.
  4. Despite (c) above, NZAP-supported students who have completed Short-Term Training Scholarships or English Language Training for Officials of less than six months in duration are required to return to their home country for at least one year after the completion of their scholarship.
