WJ6.5 Additional requirements for non-Approval in Principle applicants (08/05/2017)

  1. Where WJ6(a)(ii) applies, before any work visa is granted for foreign crew, the New Zealand employer must:
    1. meet the AIP requirements as set out at WJ2(b); and
    2. agree to comply with all the requirements and obligations set out at WJ5.
  2. provide the completed form Supplementary Form for Foreign Crew of a Fishing Vessel (INZ 1213); and
  3. INZ will determine whether the New Zealand employer has made genuine attempts to find suitably qualified and experienced New Zealand citizens or residence class visa holders in accordance with the requirements set out in WK2.10.
  4. To ensure the above requirements have been met, INZ will consult with relevant government agencies including, but not limited to, the Ministry for Primary Industries, Maritime New Zealand, and the Ministry of Social Development.
