Ireland - Craft and Trade Qualifications (23/09/2013)

The Craft and Trade qualifications below may be awarded the points indicated where the qualification is:

  • awarded by a recognised awarding body within the dates specified; and
  • relevant to an occupation in Part B of the List of Skilled Occupations at Appendix 6.

  • Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) (from 2011)
  • Metal Fabrication
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Plastering
  • Plumbing
  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
  • Sheet Metalworking
  • Tool Making
  • Wood Machining (until 2012)
  • Wood Manufacturing and Finishing (from 2013).

If an applicant believes their qualification may be higher than the level stated they should apply to the NZQA for an International Qualification Assessment.

Note: Award certificates must be provided in their original language for all qualifications. Award certificates are issued in English, or in English and Irish.

If any courses leading to the award of one of the qualifications listed above were studied at any institution outside of Ireland, (including any Irish overseas campuses), or courses which have been cross-credited towards the listed qualifications please refer to the NZQA for an International Qualification Assessment.

All qualifications awarded after 2013 should be referred to NZQA for an International Qualification Assessment.
