I1.1 Grant of an interim visa (to 26/08/2018)

Note: The instructions contained in this section cease to be effective from 27/08/2018.

1. An interim visa may be granted to a person who:
   1. holds a temporary visa; and
   2. has applied for a further temporary visa; and
   3. is in New Zealand.
2. An interim visa cannot be applied for.
3. Interim visas may be granted by electronic means.

Note: Temporary visas include visitor, student, work, military, and diplomatic, consular and official visas. Interim and limited visas are not categorised as temporary visas and do not meet the requirements of I1.1(a).
