SM21.1 Aim and intent (to 27/08/2017)

Note: The instructions in this section cease to be effective from 28/08/2017.

  1. To be granted residence under the Skilled Migrant Category, applicants must demonstrate that they have the ability to successfully settle in and contribute to New Zealand.
  2. The aim of assessing ability to settle and contribute is to ensure that the Skilled Migrant Category maximises the contribution that migrants make to New Zealand.
