C3.20 Immigration matters not within functions of refugee status officers

Immigration Act 1987 s 129W

The following are matters for the Minister or appropriate immigration or visa officer only, and are outside the functions, powers or jurisdiction of refugee status officers:

  1. granting or issuing or giving any visa, permit, exemption or special direction; and
  2. revoking or cancelling any visa, permit, exemption or special direction; and
  3. the conditions to be attached to any visa, permit, exemption or special direction; and
  4. removing or deporting any person from New Zealand; and
  5. any issue of a humanitarian nature that arises outside the context of a decision relating to the recognition of refugee status in New Zealand.
