W6.5 General conditions (26/07/1999)
  1. Under the working holiday schemes, young citizens of approved countries may travel to New Zealand for a holiday and undertake employment during their stay.
  2. To be eligible for a work visa and permit under these schemes, applicants must:
    1. be aged no less than 18 and no more than 30, and not be accompanied by children, and
    2. provide evidence of sufficient funds to purchase return travel.
  3. Holders of such permits:
    1. must not undertake permanent employment, and
    2. must not change their status to that of student, visitor or long- term work permit holder, and
    3. are not eligible to come to New Zealand for any further working holiday under the scheme, and
    4. if they lodge an application for residence, do not qualify for a further 3-month permit.
  4. The applicant is not required to provide evidence of a job offer.
