WI6 Pacific Quotas Residual Places Work Permit Policy (19/12/2005)
  1. People who have:
    1. made an application for residence under either the Residual Quota Places Policy or the Residual Pacific Access Category Places Policy on which a final decision has not been made; and
    2. held a valid work permit on 19 December 2005 and from the 19 December 2005 to the date on which their application under this policy is made, continuously have held a valid work permit; and
    3. have current employment in New Zealand or an offer of employment in New Zealand

    may be granted a work permit allowing a stay until 30 September 2006.

  2. A work visa may be issued to holders of work permits under this policy.
  3. To be issued or granted a work permit and visa under this policy, applicants must:
    1. provide a completed work application form and fee; and
    2. meet health and character requirements set out in E6; and
    3. meet the requirements for bona fide applicants set out in E5; and
    4. provide evidence of current employment in New Zealand or an offer of employment in New Zealand.
  4. A labour market check is not required.
  5. Work permits granted under this policy must be endorsed with conditions that allow work only for a specified employer in a specified industry, trade, occupation or profession.
