V3.95 German law students and graduates

  1. Law students and law graduates from the Federal Republic of Germany, who come to New Zealand as unpaid observers with New Zealand law firms, are not considered to be undertaking employment and may be issued with a standard visitor's visa or granted a standard visitor's permit for a stay of up to 6 months.
  2. Visa and immigration officers must sight a written offer of a temporary position as an unpaid observer with a New Zealand law firm for a specified period (up to 6 months).
