E4.80 Fees (26/07/1999)

Immigration Regulations 1999 regs 42 and 43

  1. Applicants must pay the fee specified for that type of application at the time the application is lodged, unless:
    1. the fee is waived by an officer with Schedule 1 delegations who has the authority to give a special direction under section 149 of the Immigration Act 1987, or
    2. the applicant is a citizen of a country with which New Zealand has a fee waiver agreement covering temporary visas and permits (see A6).
  2. Fees may be paid in cash or by bank or personal cheque, as well as by money order, credit card or EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer Point of Sale), if these forms of payment are acceptable to the NZIS office or MFAT post at which an application is lodged.
  3. Cheques for applications lodged at NZIS offices in New Zealand should be made out to 'New Zealand Immigration Service'.
  4. Detailed information on fee amounts in different currencies and on account names for various overseas branches of the NZIS and MFAT posts is given in the NZIS Information Circular 'Visa Fees Payable Offshore' (see Appendix 1).
