A6.15 Other fee information (28/11/2005)

A6.15.1 Recovery of courier costs

NZIS can charge or recover the cost of the courier delivery of documents to applicants.

A6.15.5 Reduced Residence application fee

  1. Applicants who have paid the fee for one of the following temporary entry categories:
    1. Work to Residence - Long Term Skill Shortage List,
    2. Work to Residence - Talent (Arts, Sports and Culture),
    3. Work to Residence - Talent (Accredited Employer), and
    4. Long Term Business Visa/Permit

    will be charged a reduced residence visa or permit application fee as they have already paid a settlement component in their temporary entry fee.

  2. These applicants should only receive settlement information once.

A6.15.10 Fee for a reconsideration of a temporary visa or permit application

  1. Where applicants wish to have their visa or permit application reconsidered, they can submit a new application and pay the reconsideration fee.
  2. If, on reconsideration of the application, the NZIS finds that the initial decision was made in error, then the reconsideration fee may be refunded using existing discretionary powers by an immigration or visa officer with the appropriate delegation.

A6.15.15 Fee for applications granted after consideration under Section 35A of the Immigration Act 1987

Temporary entry applications granted after consideration under Section 35A of the Immigration Act 1987 will incur the appropriate Section 35A permit fee, instead of the visitor, student or work permit fee.

A6.15.20 Use of call out fee

  1. Where an officer with schedule 1 delegations considers there are compelling reasons for an application to be treated as urgent, and this requires the office to be opened after hours, the call out fee should be applied.
  2. In cases where the call out fee is used, the fee may be partially waived where the actual costs associated with the processing of the application are lower than the fee specified on the fees schedule.
  3. The call out fee specified in the fee schedule is the maximum amount that can be charged in these situations.

A6.15.25 Offshore fees

The Department of Labour Corporate Finance completes a quarterly assessment of the fees in relation to foreign currencies, and adjusts them where there are significant currency fluctuations.
