WG2 Applications based on offers of employment in occupations on the OSL (29/04/2002)
  1. The OSL is a list of identified occupations for which there is a shortage of skilled workers in New Zealand. It is centrally maintained and issued six-monthly by the NZIS. In compiling the list the NZIS uses a range of information sources and takes into account regional variations where appropriate. The current OSL is published on the NZIS Internet site at www.immigration.govt.nz.
  2. If an applicant produces an offer of employment in an occupation that is included on the current OSL visa and immigration officers will accept that no suitably qualified New Zealand citizens or residents are available.
  3. If in New Zealand such applicants should apply to the NZIS branch nearest their place of proposed employment in New Zealand, or if overseas to the NZIS or its agents responsible for receiving work visa applications from the country in which the applicant currently lives.

Effective 29/04/2002
