H2.25 Approval not contrary to the public interest (26/07/1999)

Visa and immigration officers must be satisfied that the presence of the applicant would not be contrary to the public interest of New Zealand, by:

  1. establishing that the applicant does not pose a security threat; and
  2. applying the character requirements policy (see A5), including the provisions for making an exception (see A5.25.1); and
  3. applying the policy on health requirements (see A4), including the provisions for medical waivers (see A4.55).
