Parent Resident Visa expression of interest (EOI) selection process

Your EOI goes into a queue or ballot depending on when we received it.

To apply for a Parent Resident Visa, you must first submit an expression of interest (EOI). If we select your EOI, we may invite you to apply for residence.

We select EOIs every 3 months from a queue and by ballot.

Selections occur in February, May, August and November, and generally take place on the second Tuesday of the relevant month.

Queue for EOIs received before 12 October 2022

The queue contains EOIs received on or before 11 October 2022.

The number of EOIs we select is adjusted to account for the fact that some EOIs include 2 people, and some EOIs may not result in a visa approval.

The next selection will be in November 2023.

Note

We select at least 400 EOIs from the queue at each selection. Before each selection, we decide if we need more than 400 based on the success rate from the previous selection. As a result, expected dates in the table below are estimates only, and may change. We update the table after each selection (quarterly).
