Countries with a low incidence of tuberculosis
You must have a chest X-ray if you have been living in a country that does not have a low incidence of tuberculosis (TB).
When you need to have a chest X-ray
If you are applying for a visa to come to New Zealand for 6 months or longer, you must have a chest X-ray if you:
- are a citizen of a country that is not on this list, or
- have spent more than 3 months in the past 5 years in a country that is not on this list.
You may not need to have a chest X-ray if you:
- are a citizen of a country that is not on this list, and
- can prove you have never lived in or spent time in that country.
